INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION (ISS)

The ISS is a joint project between the space agencies of the United States of America (NASA), Russia (Roscosmos), Japan (JAXA), Canada (CSA), and twenty-two European countries (ESA).The Brazilian Space Agency (AEB, Brazil) is involved in the project through a separate contract with NASA.

Likewise, Italy, which belongs to the ESA or the European Union, has made separate agreements for various activities that do not belong to the role of the ESA. China is not yet involved in this, but it has been reported that they are also interested in this project if they are allowed to work together with the Russian government.

ISS is a continuation of other planned space stations. Russia's Mir 2, America's severely underfunded Freedom space station, Europe's Columbus and Kibo stations, Japan's Experiment Module Center are a few such centers.

The day the first guest crew came to  the ISS (November 2, 2000)since Humans have become permanent residents of space since it has been populated continuously. Currently there is space for a group of six. All the original team members came from Russia and America.

In July 2006, ESA astronaut German national Thomer Reiter joined the Expedition 13 crew, becoming the first member on record from another space agency.

So far, astronauts from 16 countries have been able to explore the center. The ISS was the destination of the first space travel of the five. Repairs to the center are primarily carried out by the Russian Soyuz and Progress spacecraft. On March 9, 2008, the Jules Verne ATV, the first autonomous transfer vehicle with ESA's planned Ariane 5, was launched to the ISS with over 8000 kg of cargo.

On April 3, 2008, it is reported that the goods were successfully received. The cost of the ISS from inception to 2010 is approximately $150 billion, making it the most expensive object ever built by mankind.
