An investigation into the death of 14 whales on the coast of Tasmania, Australia

Australian wildlife authorities say that an investigation is being conducted into the deaths of the 14 whales that washed up on the coast of the Australian state of Tasmania and got stuck there. It has been identified that all those who have died are young sperm whales.  These 14 whales were found at the beginning of the week on the coast of King Island, north of Tasmania. A group of biologists and veterinarians have already gone to the island for tests. It is believed that the young whales getting stuck on the beach and dying were due to their own mistakes while searching for food.

Especially since these whales live in groups, it is said that they may have come to the shore after a fish..

Meanwhile, over 230 more whales have been identified as stranded along the coast of Tasmania as of yesterday, according to the wildlife authorities. This identification was made in the vicinity of Macquarie Harbor, which is also considered to be the place where a large number of whales washed up and got stranded in 2020. About 470 whales got stuck between the rocks. Among them, more than 300 pilot whales died
